 £26,421 – £28,770 per annum (18 months contract)

This role is based in Colchester and as an integral and highly valued member of the Primary Care Mental Health Team, the PSW will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to service users in order for them to regain control over their lives and their unique recovery journey.

Through sharing the wisdom of one’s own lived experience of recovery, the PSW will inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible. Within a relationship of mutuality, they will facilitate and support information sharing to promote choice, self-determination and opportunities for the fulfilment of socially valued roles and connection to local communities.

You will bring:

  • An awareness of the current health and social care climate
  • A passion for helping people whilst having our Purpose & Values at the heart of what you do
  • An ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with community leaders, local authority, and professionals
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and listening) skills with an ability to write reports and papers
  • Competent and secure use of IT, including Email, Internet, MS Office 365, Database and Cloud technologies
  • An ability to prioritise tasks, workload and manage time effectively
  • Great interpersonal skills to work with diverse communities
  • Empathy and emotional personal resilience
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Flexibility with working hours and location this role is outreach and therefore you could be based at other partner locations.
  • An ability to multi-task within a dynamic, fast paced, and changing environment
  • A “can do” attitude and ensure a high quality customer focus service at all times
